Pick-Up, Delivery & Assembly Advice
By Dezign “Customer Pick Up” and Loading Conditions:
- All customer pick- ups must be paid in full before they can be collected. Final payments can only be made at the By Dezign retail stores, no payments can be accepted at the warehouse.
- Customer Pick-up Hours:
- Monday – Saturday, 10.00am - 4.00pm
- Please note that any sales after 2.30pm cannot be collected until the next warehouse working day.
- Please note that there are no pick-ups on Sundays, Thursday nights or Public Holidays.
- By Dezign offers a complete delivery service and all the terms and conditions of that service are printed on the reverse side of your Sales Order. Because you have elected to pick up the goods you have become your “own carrier”. As such we need to highlight your responsibilities and you must understand and agree to these.

- You must check that the goods selected match your sales order or “cash sale pick up” docket. You must inspect the goods and sign that they are in good order and condition. (In the case of ready to assemble goods in cartons you have 3 days to report any damage or missing parts).
- You must secure your load in a safe and secure manner so as not to damage the goods or any property. Please remember that all loads should be tied down to prevent personal injury inside your vehicle in case of sudden breaking.
- You must not overload your vehicle or oversize the load. These requirements are outlined by the NSW Roads and Traffic Authority.
- In loading your vehicle as an own carrier you must take full responsibility for the loading, as the Company cannot be held responsible for any injury to customers, damage to your goods or to your vehicle. Our staff will assist with loading unless they consider there is a possibility of injury or damage. If this is the case Occupational Health & Safety and insurance requirements specify that although customers may load their purchase by themselves, staff cannot assist.
- You must exit the building through the nominated exit point.
- Any damage caused to the “Homemaker MegaMall” or warehouse will be at your own expense.
- In the case of wet conditions you should make arrangements for water protection.
- Where loads need securing you must provide your own straps or ropes.
- Safety is important both for your own self and others in our warehouse areas.
- No customers are allowed in the warehouse or storeroom areas.
- By Dezign reserves the right to refuse loading if staff deem it unsafe to load.
By-Dezign “Contract Deliveries” Charges and Conditions:
Delivery Charges – subject to conditions as detailed on the back of Sales Order contracts.
- Standard Delivery within Sydney Metropolitan area.
- Furniture for a single room eg. lounge, dining, bedroom or Office $60 including GST
- Delivery of furniture for 2 or more rooms eg a lounge and a dining suite $90 including GST
- Deliveries outside Sydney Metropolitan area are subject to quotation.
Organising delivery days and times:

All deliveries are arranged by the Warehouse Manager only. Sales consultants are not able to promise or arrange deliveries.

By Dezign’s Contract Carrier delivers all over Sydney and delivery runs need to be coordinated into areas for each day. We will ring you at least one day prior, to arrange a specific delivery but at that stage we cannot advise a delivery timeframe.

On the morning of your delivery, once the truck is loaded, we will ring you to advise an approximate 2 hour delivery time frame, i.e. between 1.00pm and 3.00pm. This is approximate only as unforeseen issues may cause delays.

You must be at the nominated delivery location to accept the delivery – the contract carrier cannot wait for you to arrive.

Customers who are not at home to accept the delivery will incur a second delivery fee. This also applies to all deliveries that are cancelled on the agreed delivery day.
Paying for deliveries:

Deliveries can be paid in full, prior to delivery, to save any problems. Our Contract Carrier can accept Cash, Credit Cards and Eftpos. Credit card payments must be made in person and customers must have photo ID. With cash payments, customers must have the correct amount, as the drivers do not carry change. Bank cheques can also be accepted but personal cheques or business cheques are not accepted.

The Contract Carriers cannot leave any goods that have not been paid in full. This includes goods that are to be assembled by another contractor after delivery.
Delivery Service:

The Contract Carriers do not unpack, remove packaging, assemble new items or remove old furniture.

The delivery fee charged is for a standard delivery only, unless other specific requirements have been advised and are printed on your sales order.

Deliveries where there is difficult access, multi-level stair access (more than 3 flights of stairs) or deliveries where the truck has to be parked away from the delivery site will incur an additional charge to be nominated by the Contract Carrier.

It is the customer’s responsibility to ensure that the goods can be delivered into the premises and into the required room.

In wet conditions, deliveries to building sites with unfinished paths or driveways may not be practical and may have to be postponed.
